In case of strictures
The spacer balloons are inflated with pure contrast agent and remain in situ to keep the previous treated ureteroenteric stricture dilated while the expanded urothelium heals and urine can flow through the schaft into the bag of the urostomy.
In case of leakage
The balloon has been used as kidney blockers in case of leaking ileal conduits and urinoma at the anastomosis to bypass the conduit.
To easily exchange the skin sticker of the urostomy bag once in three days, without dislocating the catheters, the extra catheter loops can be tied together and fixed with a piece of soft oxygen tube and a surgical tether. The tube can be folded and easily pass the sticker hole. It prevents the loops from slipping into the urostomy.
